Like everyone else I have the warmest memories of Helen, and was fortunate to have met John as well shortly before his death

As you know Helen had a strong personality - she could never be described as a shrinking violet - but her warmth and kindness shone through

She was very generous with her musical knowledge - she would try and teach a group of us the Session House of Cramond Kirk on a Saturday morning and would punch me in the stomach when I wasn't 'breathing properly '. I soon learned.

We even tried a couple of duets at annual choir Christmas parties - which were terrifying for me but great fun for the rest of the choir

She had a great love for Cramond Kirk and would attend church most Sundays until her health and eyesight started to fail.
